Scope and definitions
This licence explains email addresses in the domain tinsleyviaduct.com, permitted uses, prohibitions and misuse fees. By continuing to use these addresses after receiving email that points to this licence, you agree to be bound by the terms herein.
There are two types of email address in the domain. They are the “general personal” type, of the form user@tinsleyviaduct.com, and the “suffixed” type, of the form user-suffix@tinsleyviaduct.com or user+suffix@tinsleyviaduct.com. Suffixes help our system to organise the messages as well as helping us to identify a source.
You only hold a licence if you have a suffixed address. However, holding a licence sets a condition on the general personal type of address as well.
You will hold a licence for only one suffixed address for any particular user at any one time. Being granted a licence for a new suffix rescinds any earlier licence, unless otherwise stated in this licence.
If you hold a licence for a suffixed address, you should not use the general personal address. See rule 11 for what will happen if you do.
Permitted uses
You may always, while your licence remains in force, contact the user specifically on your licenced suffixed email address.
You may send your own promotional material to your licenced suffixed email address.
Subject to the terms of any agreement made between yourself and the user, you may pass on this email address to other parties. The terms of such an agreement will be read In parallel with this licence.
Prohibitions
You must not contact the user on a suffixed email address for which you do not hold a licence, unless that contact is the result of a matter raised by another licence holder when you may use their suffix until you receive a reply. A level 2 fee may be invoiced to you if this is ignored.
You must not make up a new suffixed address for yourselves. A level 2 fee may be charged for doing so, and the new suffix will be withdrawn without further notice.
You should not use the user's general personal email address if you hold a licence to use a suffixed one. You will be reminded of this the first time you do so. Persistently disregarding this rule may result in a level 1 fee being invoiced.
You must not pass on your licenced email address outside the terms of any agreement between yourself and the user. A level 3 fee may be invoiced if this term is not adhered to.
Inadvertent occurrences
In the event of a data breach, whether affecting ourselves or your organisation, your suffix may be withdrawn and replaced with a new one. We will not charge a fee for this, but if we do change your suffix, your old one ceases to be licenced from the first working day after we send the notice.
In the event of external party abuse of the suffix, it will be withdrawn and replaced with a new one in the same way. We may charge the external abuser a level 3 fee, if we can identify them, but there will be no cost to you..
Withdrawal of licence
We will withdraw your licence for a suffix if it is clear you have misused it, or if a data breach has occurred which may pose a risk to us if the suffixed address continues to be used. A withdrawn suffix may be barred so that further email to it bounces.
Misuse fees
In any circumstances stated in this licence where a fee may be charged, you will be invoiced by email from your currently licenced suffix. If this is not paid, we may pursue this in writing, initially through a local office of your organisation, and in continued default, through your head office. If fees charged are not paid after this time, we reserve the right to pursue the matter through the County Court system, which will incur additional fees and may incur costs which will be added to the amount claimed.
A level 2 fee will always be twice the amount of a level 1 fee, and a level 3 fee will be twice the amount of a level 2 fee. The level 1 fee will be shown at the end of the web version of this document, together with the date it came into force. The amount charged will be that in force on the date of the timestamp of the email's first step in transit, or the date of its receipt if no transit steps are shown.
